My 4 Posts week 2

The posts that I made were:

Hi, Tea
I do like how you included very specific details about your offline self compared to your online self having better etiquette than your offline self. Personally, I am more civilized offline than I am online because I feel like online it is harder to embarrass myself. I feel that me and you are the opposite since I have a different form of criticism that is more straight forward but less polite. https://alexabrezn4101.edublogs.org/

I commented on Tea’s online vs offline because I noticed how different me and Tea were from our online and offline selves. As I was reading Tea’s post I noticed how she included some specific details which was different from mine which I found interesting.

Aidan you are right. When people use slang it makes them seem unprofessional so it is hard to take them seriously. It is like if you show up to a job interview with your pajamas on. Check out my blog at https://alexabrezn4101.edublogs.org

I commented on Adian’s post about guidelines to commenting which I agree with like I did with Ella’s (I didn’t copy her post and now I can’t find it) is that they kept it simple and just explained what has to be said with no fluff I had to dig through.

Hi Mel,
I didn’t know you liked pants and disliked pants because you wear shorts all the time. At lunch, you hang out with over twenty people at that very large table. I consider a large group of friends when more than two friends talk to me at the same time about the same thing and it fills me with joy to feel like people are interested in what I say or pay attention to my quirks.

I commented on Mel’s post because I noticed a contradictory statement in which she said things that I was sure was untrue because she acts the exact opposite on the internet. When Mel mentioned that she hung out with a small group which was the final straw and then I had a mental break down in which I was serious about. Whenever people mention that they have a small amount of friends when they always hang out after school everyday with a group of six people, I get depressed. I feel this way because I didn’t have a birthday party because I didn’t know if anyone would come. Instead of having a birthday party I thought I could just hang outwith my friends at our favorite hang out spot and I left the invite open so anyone could come. No one said they would come so I thought I would just go home and I was heart broken. When I passed my friends walking to the place, I thought they changed their minds and so after I got home I walked a long ways there but it would be worth it to see my friends. After I got to that place they weren’t there so even though I looked for them so I celebrated my birthday alone.

Favorite Family Moment

Pic_Nevada in lazy river

My favorite time with my family is when we go to Las Vegas to visit family and stay in hotels during every summer. We first drive to our grandparents house in a six hour car ride that makes me resent my brothers. On this particular trip we spent time at the lazy river, went indoor skydiving, swam in the pool, and drove down the strip to see all of the extravagant buildings in Vegas.

Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs was one of my Halloween costume options for this year which was only prevented by the four hour line at Party City. Steve Jobs was a the co founder of Apple and has had several movies have been made about his life like Steve Jobs and Jobs because he was a successful man but he wasn’t responsible for his family and infamous for his ego but he was a great speaker that is the closest person to Martin Luther King Jr. in the last 20 years. He was the man who got people to buy Apple products and he was a man that was so enthusiastic about his work. This man has got people to buy Apple products even after he died. Even though he didn’t know how to code he was still useful to Apple. One of Steve Jobs other lesser known achievements is that he helped create Pixar when he was fired from Apple.

My Calender

I added a calendar to my blog because I never memorize the date and find myself asking others most of the day. With my computer’s settings as is I have to move my mouse down to the bottom corner of the screen and click on the time to see the date but with this calendar on my blogging page I will know what day I have a test because I don’t have any other calendars that I have quick access to are like that so I can see when my test is in a subject in relation to a project due in another. In addition, I don’t get my work done at the earliest of times so when my calendar says it is already on the next day means that I need to go to bed soon.

My native language

Native and only language-English

The only language I speak is English and in the west there is a cultural historical event that everyone should know about. The Great Video Game Crash of 1983, in which people lost interest in video games. This is historical because everyone plays video games. Most people own smartphones and play video games on them like Candy Crush Saga, Crossy Road, Madden, and any other game app in the App or Google Play stores. I hear arguments all of the time about them being different, but I don’t see it because they both are interactive experiences that take place on computers. What is the difference between playing a video game on a console in comparison to a smartphone?

Halloween decorations

I decorated my Halloween homepage by getting an image from Pixabay by getting one image from their site and I changed my theme.  My favorite food is pumpkin pie. I usually carve pumpkins a night or two before Halloween but this year we didn’t.  When I was born, I came home after being in ICU for twelve days dressed as a pumpkin because it was Halloween. I usually decorate my house for Halloween with mom with orange lights, plush spiders, and window stickers.

Copyright

I learnt that images on the internet used in social media can be a violation of copyright and that different courthouses have different definitions of fair use. In addition I learned that the copyright laws in the United States need to change with the times because people are accidentally violating copyright all of the time.

My Mom’s side of the family

Hi, I am Alex’s Mom.  I am originally from Flint, Michigan, which has progressively gone downhill as far as crime and the economy since I graduated from high school in 1987.  Being a very depressed area, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to extend my education beyond high school and move away to attend college in Ann Arbor at the University.  Given that none of my relatives, past or present had achieved a higher education degree, the odds were against me.  What I did have in my corner though was the fighting spirit and determination within, which seems to be instilled in every generation of my family.

On my dad’s side of the family, my great-grandparents were farmers which moved to the Flint area with the explosion of auto manufacturing in the 1930s, and my grandfather retired from AC Spark Plugs after thirty years on the job.  Being an auto worker and cook/bookkeeper, my dad’s parents were able to raise three boys (including my father and his two brothers).  My parents married right out of high school and had me when they were 20 years old.  That said, they did not go to college and instead worked very hard doing jobs that didn’t pay very well like appliance/car salesman and bus driver.  Seeing that they struggled to support me and my two siblings, I vowed to carve out a different path and set my goals on attaining at the very least a Bachelor’s degree.

On the maternal side of the family, my great-grandfather was a professional gambler with his wife staying home tending the gardens, chickens and taking care of the brood of kids they had (which totaled 13 kids).  As was common in those times, my great-grandmother didn’t work outside the home, but my other great-grandfather was a fire chief.  My grandfather’s family moved to the U.S. from Germany, but had been here for several generations working as farmers, railroad construction workers, and eventually line workers in the auto factories (as my grandfather retired from DuPont paint after 30 years).  My grandmother did not work, drive or speak English (for the most part) as she was born and raised in Quebec Canada, speaking only French until she was 13 years of age when she moved to Flint to live with one of her older sisters.  She met my mom’s dad when she was working at the Soda Fountain counter at the drug store that was located across the way from the shop where factory workers would often go for lunch.  They married and had five children, but tragically my grandmother was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when my mom was only 10 years old thus cutting her childhood short as she and her sisters had to now take care of all household chores and take care of their mother as her health deteriorated.

There have been several challenges and steep obstacles that my family has faced, but it seems that deep down inside each one of us there is a never ending desire to keep pushing through adversity to achieve our goals.  I can only hope that this spirit continues to carry my boys forward into the future allowing them to do what they set their minds to.

Spooky Story

]scarymaskman

One day there was a little boy named Matthew who was wandering down his street to his house at 8:00 at night until a man with a scar down his face comes out from around a corner pulled out a knife and stabbed the boy in his stomach. Matthew fell to his knees grasping his stomach leaking with blood. Matthew was losing blood quickly now so he hurried to his house as fast as he could.  As Matthew was running he felt very tired but he saw his house. He ran with all of his power and collapsed after he rang the doorbell. When he regained consciousness, Matthew’s mother and sister were  wrapping Matthew’s stomach in bandages. Matthew was conscious for a week and he couldn’t get up. His mother had made pasta his favorite food which was still steaming. Matthew now felt that he was able to sit up and he devoured it all. After Matthew finished chewing his last bite of pasta, his little sister came into the room with his favorite movie Planet Wars: 7 which seemed like a longer movie than when he had seen it last. After watching the movie. Matthew asked his mom if he could go outside she and his little sister both replied at the same time. Matthew now realized that he can’t go to the outside world ever again.
